Here are a few of the cars we have done for our clients.  The handful of cars featured here were chosen from the many we have built over the years to represent the diversity of vehicles Kidd Darrin's Custom Cars can build for you.  Please understand that many of the photos used on this website were taken many years ago for our company photo album. While the quality of most are very good many were all taken pre-digital age! Be sure to click on some of the pictures for more details and larger photos.

1958 Chevy PickupText Box: 1958 Chevy Custom Pickup

This was quite a project.  Chopped about 3.5 inches the cab was stretched about 4 inches. We English Wheeled an entire new roof panel.  The bed was entirely fabricated in steel inside and out and welded to the body as a unibody design. The rear tailgate section is welded to the bed as one piece and the “Nomad” style moldings were fabricated in steel and welded to the back of the tailgate. The front end is completely changed (you really need to compare it to a stock ’58 to appreciate the extent of the work that was done).  And once again the interior was completely redesigned and fabricated including the dash.  Go to our Interior Designs page to see more of what was done to this truck’s stock functionally ugly (would that be funugly?) interior. You can also read more about this truck as one of our feature cars on our Magazine Featured Cars page.

1941 Cadillac Fastback

The changes to this one are subtle but cool.  The front end of a ’41 is kind of ugly so we decided to install a ’49 Caddy grill bar and re-fabricate the front edge of the hood to contour.  We finished up the look with a set of 1956 Cadillac front bumper halves and some custom fabricated grill pieces including our own hand built front parking lights.  The back end is also all Caddy.  The rear bumper halves are off of the front bumper of a 1958 model.  We knocked out the rubber cones and ran the exhaust through them.

1939 Chevy Coupe

What a car.  I loved this one.  The hood was welded down the center (to eliminate the factory center hood hinge) and the factory side panels were cut off of the hood. New solid hood side panels were fabricated (and no they’re not flat they had to be wheeled on the English Wheel). The cowl was cut and recessed to install new aluminum hinges and gas shocks.  The hood now opens and closes like a real car!  The thin chrome belt line moldings were hand made from brass. The trunk features a late model Cadillac electric pull down assembly. Of course it’s got all the usual stuff – LT1 motor, 700R4 trans, A/C, PW, PS, PB, Cruise, Shock Wave air ride, Baer discs and on and on ...  The side view door mirrors – well that’s a secret.  The front parking lights are late model Ford Escort. The interior is all handmade.  Go to the Interior Designs page to see more photos and descriptions of all the tricks we did to the inside that you can’t see here.

1972 Volvo P1800

Normally we don’t get involved in import stuff but I have to say I always liked these cars.  This car came to us apart and in boxes.  Apparently the previous shop got into hot water with the IRS. Boxes of parts were thrown into the interior and the car did not run.  We repainted the car black, redid the wiring, restored the dash with real wood veneer, redid the entire interior (adding a few custom interior touches on the door panels) and delivered it as the turnkey running beauty you see here (complete with bitchin’ 18 inch rollers ‘n skins).
